Of course there are many other things you can do with Cakewalk FX Velocity, but I'll leave you to explorer those.į1 should bring up the *.chm file, though it might pop up behind another window. All notes sounded will be that value - regardless of actual velocity played. With this you can set the resultant velocity to any value. I believe you might get what you are asking by inserting an Cakewalk FX Velocity in the Effects Rack of the MIDI track that your midi keyboard is triggering. So my question is: can I do the same with Cakewalk as I did with Fl? Or even better, can I make my keys sound with the same volume but with the keeping of the function"when I press harder it's louder"? I also had this problem with FL Studio but there I found the velocity adjustor, and I adjusted it horizontally (initially it was diagonally), so that my keys would sound with the same volume, but the volume wouldn't change no matter how hard I pressed. My keys are totally fine (cause for example when I use PianoMarvel the velocity works perfectly ). I'll try and contact M-Audio as you suggest but I'll be surprised if they can help with such a narrow issue.I use midi keyboard, and the certain notes are just louder than others. I'm reluctant to go through all the hassle of returning the Keyboard as faulty when there appears to be nothing wrong with it except when using mixcraft. I do appreciate your time and help here but I'm sure you can understand my scepticism on this. If the keyboard is not sending a note off message to those DAWS and 'stand alones' then why are they all working perfectly okay? I've also tried it again extensively with a range of stand alone VSTi's and it's completely problem free.

In mixcraft it happens everytime I hit that particular D note, never fails to fail! Yet I've just spent the past few hours using the axiom in FL Studio, Acid Pro (an old version) and a trial copy of Ableton, no matter how hard I try I can't re-create this issue in any of those DAWS. You say it's clear that mixcraft is never receiving a 'note off' message but is that really the case, or is mixcraft ignoring the message? I've not ruled out the possibility that my keyboard may have a dodgy key but I have to say I'm not convinced there's anything wrong with it. Thanks, and again, very sorry to hear you're having this problem. Are you SURE it doesn't happen in other DAWs? Please try to test this thoroughly to be sure. Does it happen every time you press the D key?Ģ. In the mean time, I'd like to ask you to do a few more tests and see if you can answer these questions:ġ. I'd recommend you contact M-Audio and see if this is a known issue with the Axiom.īy the way, later this week we'll have access to an Axiom 25, and we'll try to do some testing to see if there's any chance we can reproduce this problem.

If Windows doesn't give us a message, that usually points to a driver problem or a controller problem, and since every other key on your controller is working fine, I have to believe it's a controller problem. Meanwhile, your controller keyboard talks to Windows, giving it messages to pass on to the DAW. The way a DAW like Mixcraft works is, it receives MIDI messages from the Windows operating system and stores them in memory. I know that's not what you want to hear, but there's really nothing we can do. There's really no way for me to know why this is happening, though the fact that it only happens with this one key certainly points very strongly to a fault in your keyboard. Since it's just one long note, it's clear that Mixcraft is never receiving a Note Off message for the D key from your keyboard. I really want to buy Mixcraft, it's perfect for my needs apart from this one issue, but there's no way I can use it like this. I've tried all manner of tweaks to the midi settings and double checked all the physical connections etc, I've tried different USB ports, unplugging other usb devices etc.nothing makes any difference.

Rightly or wrongly, I can only conclude that it's Mixcraft that's causing the problem here.

I have also tried the keyboard with trial versions of FL Studio and Ableton as well as an old version of Sony Acid, it works with all them without any issues. I have tried it with several vsti's and it's always the same note that does it, the others are all fine. I have discovered that there is one note on the keyboard that always 'sticks', it just continues on right through recording. I'm currently using a trial version of Mixcraft and have hooked up an M-Audio Axiom midi keyboard to play VSTI's.
